A student's major was also an important predictor of preferences for technology in the classroom (see Table 3), with engineering students having the highest preference for technology in the classroom (67.8 percent), followed by business students (64.3 percent). We identified five technologies post-literature search (i.e., web-conferencing, blogs, wikis, social networking sites, and digital games) to include in our review, based on frequency in which they appeared in the literature over the past 5 years. It is incumbent upon the faculty member to understand the promise and performance of these tools in support of improved learning and to use them accordingly.
